Patrick Zaki
Patrick Zaki is a dedicated researcher and human rights activist who was provisionally released on December 7, 2021, after enduring 22 months of detention in an Egyptian prison. He faced charges of sedition and spreading false news online, primarily stemming from a 2019 article where he highlighted incidents of discrimination against Coptic Christians in Egypt.
Currently, Patrick is pursuing his PhD at Scuola Normale in Italy. His work and resilience have been recognized through several awards, including the Maria Grazia Cutuli Award in 2021, the “Brescia for Peace” Award in 2021, and the Social Action Award in 2020.
